Guillermo Bert: Longing & Belonging — Closing Reception

Join us this Saturday for an in-person artist walkthrough and book signing with Guillermo Bert for his solo exhibition Longing & Belonging, followed by a musical performance by Tom Hiel.

Tom Hiel is a pianist and composer specializing in music for film and television. He received an MFA in Music Composition from the California Institute of the Arts.

ABOUT LONGING & BELONGING

This landmark exhibition brings together three major series spanning two decades of Bert’s practice—Warriors, Encoded Textiles, and Jacquard Punch Cards—each exploring the intersections of tradition, technology, and migration in the 21st century.

ABOUT GUILLERMO BERT

Guillermo Bert has exhibited widely in the United States and abroad, including at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (where his work is currently on view in Grounded), the Smithsonian Renwick Gallery, the Nevada Museum of Art (site of Bert’s first major museum exhibition in 2023, The Journey), and the Museum of Latin American Art (which will present a solo exhibition of Bert’s work in 2026). His work has also been shown at the Rhode Island Museum of Art, where it is currently featured in an exhibition of the museum’s recent acquisitions. Bert’s work is included in major collections at LACMA, the Smithsonian Institution, the Rhode Island Museum of Art, and the Museum of Latin American Art, among others.
